Halloumi cheese is expensive, but hella worth forking out for. For those who don't know, it's the salty, meaty Cypriot cheese that's made from a mixture of goat and sheep milk.
It's the perfect addition to any BBQ as it grills so nicely and everyone will be fighting for the last slice.
Another way to use Halloumi is to fry it, in a coating of Tubby Dust and flour.
1 pack of Halloumi
1 Tubby Dust shaker
1 handful of plain flour
2 phat glugs of vegetable oil
Snatch that pack of Halloumi off the shelf, you may as well buy two packs because the first will be gobbled so quick.
Get home, rip open the cheese and slice it in half horizontally. Then slice the halves into chip shapes and pile them up high. Chuck a fist full of flour into a bowl and add as much tubby dust as you desire, then mix.
Smack the frying pan on medium heat with a couple phat glugs of veggie oil. Once the oil is hot, dredge each piece of cheese through the floury dust mix and lay the cheese into the pan. Watch it bubble about and spit a bit for about a minute, then flip with ya tongz. Wait until it's golden brown on each side and lay them on some kitchen towel.
Select your favourite Tubby Tom's hot sauce as a dip - I'd recommend Ghost Town (Ghost chilli and garlic) as it pairs really well with the salty cheese.
